The Niskayuna Fighting Knights topped the Savannah Alpines, 5-4, in Sub League 2 action at Alpines Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Niskayuna pitcher and Maracay, Venezuela, native Enrique Rodriguez. The winner was Rodriguez. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Ken Trumble. Art Cohen nailed down the save.

Jonathan Swander was 1 for 3 with a walk for Niskayuna. The 19-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Ken Trumble. It was his 62nd hit of the season.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Niskayuna manager Jonathan Anderson.

With the victory, the Fighting Knights upped their record to 66-62.
