Cyclones Squelch Miners Offense in Shutout Win
In a tight tilt between Mt. Vernon and Carson City, pitcher Sueo Nakashima was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-0 Cyclones win. Mt. Vernon reliever Sueo Nakashima got the win, raising his record to 9-4. Carlos Abreu was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Cyclones record stands at 69-59.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the sixth inning, but Nakashima was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Carson City trailing 2-0, Nakashima retired Jerry Konas, who grounded out.
