Niskayuna pitcher Joe Giunta did his part in helping his team beat the Newport News Wranglers, 4-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Doug DeBauche finished to wrap up his 11th save. The Fighting Knights now own a record of 64-60.

Mike Seals had a big 2-run double for the Fighting Knights in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Niskayuna leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Alex Gonzales, who is tied for 2nd in the SL2 in quality starts with 13, and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fighting Knights ahead, 3-0.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Giunta.
