Ruth goes 3-for-4 to Power Shamrocks Offense
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Sikeston Shamrocks and South Pasadena Air Riders.
A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Sean Ruth led the Sikeston Shamrocks to a win over the South Pasadena Air Riders, 7-1. The winner was Keith Carter, who threw 87 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits.
Steve Banks was a prime factor in the win for the Shamrocks. In the bottom of the first with two out, the 20-year old catcher hit a run-scoring single. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We had a nice day," said Sikeston skipper William Antczak.
The Shamrocks have a one-game lead in the Sub League 2 Central Division.
