Fighting Knights Dealt 4-2 Home Loss
|
With Matt Duval leading the charge, the Sikeston Shamrocks defeated the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 4-2. Duval went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Shamrocks. The win for the Shamrocks lifted their record to 69-51.
With Sikeston trailing 1-0 in the top of the second, Duval hit a fastball from Joe Giunta for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 2-1.
In postgame remarks, Duval hailed his team's "single-minded determination."
