A good performance from third baseman Joe Deutsch helped the Ontario Sunrays defeat the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 6-3. Deutsch went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Sunrays. Jim Unknown, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Ontario, with the win, sits at 24-72.

David Aldape had a big 2-run double for the Sunrays in the bottom of the third inning. With Ontario leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from R.J. Eisen, who is tied for 6th in the SL2 in quality starts with 7, and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sunrays ahead, 3-0.
