Sanabria Lifts Cyclones to 11-8 Win
Good production from first baseman Ricardo Sanabria helped the Mt. Vernon Cyclones topple the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 11-8. Sanabria was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Cyclones. The winner in relief was Steve Cripple. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. Jeff Reade saved it for Mt. Vernon.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Joe Collins came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Santa Barbara pitcher Mike Williams, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Mt. Vernon on top, 9-8.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Sanabria.

The win for the Cyclones raised their record to 65-55.
