The Savannah Alpines got a good effort from starter Ken Trumble in defeating the Montgomery Missions at Missions Grove. The final score was 3-1. Jeff Eddins closed the game out for Savannah, earning his 23rd save. Savannah has now won 6 games in a row.
Randy Wallman took Montgomery hurler Miguel Crespo deep in the top of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Alpines on top, 2-1. In all, Wallman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
