The skies opened up and the rain fell at Shamrocks Park.
The Montgomery Missions converted a terrific effort from starter Brian Millet into a win over the Sikeston Shamrocks at Shamrocks Park. The Missions won the game by a final score of 5-2. Millet yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 11-8. Earning his 1st save of the year was Javier Perez.
Danny Solis went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Montgomery. The 21-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Israel Parez. It was his 107th hit of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Montgomery manager Hoa Nguyen-Dinh.
Montgomery is now 73-46, Sikeston 68-51.
