In a low-scoring contest between the Newport News Wranglers and the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 19-year old right-handed pitcher Sergio Romero proved to be the difference. The Newport News right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Wranglers win. Steve Gallagher finished the game for Newport News and earned his 8th save. The Wranglers lead the Sub League 2 East Division by a game.

Brian Collins contributed to the Newport News win with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
