Fighting Knights Paste 2-0 Loss on Wranglers
|
Hurler Enrique Rodriguez gave the Niskayuna Fighting Knights a solid start. The native of Maracay, Aragua helped his team defeat the Newport News Wranglers, 2-0, at Wranglers Stadium. Rodriguez picked up the win for Niskayuna, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Alejandro Rivera was credited with the save, his 2nd in 3 tries.
Niskayuna took a 2-0 lead on Rob Campbell's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Campbell hit in the top of the eighth, left Newport News pitcher Yekuno-Amlak Lusalah visibly frustrated.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Campbell said after the game.
Niskayuna currently is in last place in the Sub League 2 East Division at 45-48.
