Rallying Sunrays Get 1-0 Win
|
In a tight game between the Ontario Sunrays and the Sikeston Shamrocks, pitcher Tom Koch was terrific on the mound. The Ontario right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. Ontario, at 43-71, sits in 4th place in the Sub League 2 Central Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Trent Slagle in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Wimberley to win the game for Ontario. The home crowd went nuts.
"I was a little disappointed," said Sikeston manager William Antczak. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
