Fighting Knights Field was the site for Sub League 2 action featuring the Niskayuna Fighting Knights and Carson City Miners.

The Carson City Miners powered past the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 9-6, at Fighting Knights Field. Jeremy Hauser was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. Trent Johnson, now 3-1, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0.

Carson City used a well-timed hit by Ryan Simmons to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Miners ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I still think this team can play even better," Simmons told the Carson City Gazette.

The first-place Miners have a one-game lead in their division.
