The Montgomery Missions were defeated, 2-1, by the Mt. Vernon Cyclones at Missions Grove, even though Brian Millet pitched well for Montgomery. The winning pitcher was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Lorenzo Guerra. He tossed 107 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. Jeff Reade closed the game out for Mt. Vernon, earning his 11th save.
Johnny Harris had a direct impact on the outcome. Harris contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Mt. Vernon up, 2-1.

With the win, Mt. Vernon upped its record to 60-54.
