Super Troopers Clip Missions in Tight Contest, 3-2
Montgomery got a terrific performance from pitcher Miguel Crespo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Santa Barbara Super Troopers. Santa Barbara won the Missions Grove contest, 3-2. Crespo threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Steve Burger in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeff O'Donovan took the loss. The current losing streak for Montgomery has reached 6 games.

Santa Barbara used a timely hit from Matt Shea to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Super Troopers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Both teams played hard," said Santa Barbara manager Tyler Haskin.
