The home crowd had a good time watching the Carson City Miners and Savannah Alpines get after it.

The Savannah Alpines topped the Carson City Miners, 8-4, in Sub League 2 action at Alpines Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Savannah pitcher Matt Brown. Steve Shewmaker recorded the save for Savannah, his 1st of the season.

Center Fielder Jody Clark made an impact for Savannah, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Lorenzo Guerrero in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Clark was 2 for 4 with a double.

"We take it day by day here," said Clark, "and today was a good one for us."

Savannah is now 46-65. Carson City is 54-57.
