Sunrays Deal Fighting Knights 6-4 Loss
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Fighting Knights Field.

The Ontario Sunrays handed the Niskayuna Fighting Knights an extra-inning, 6-4 defeat at Fighting Knights Field. Right Fielder Humphrey Gerber starred for Ontario. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Angel Silva was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-4. The losing pitcher was Art Cohen.

Dave Maser found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the 12th. Facing Niskayuna hurler Doug DeBauche, the 19-year-old designated hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 9th walk of the season put the Sunrays on top, 5-4.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Maser.

Ontario is now 53-57.
