Missions 9-4 Victors Over Santa Barbara
|
The Montgomery Missions powered past the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 9-4, at Missions Grove. Danny Solis went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Mike Gentry got credit for the win, improving to 10-6. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5.1 innings. Miguel Crespo notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Solis contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Montgomery in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Solis took a fastball from Raynaud Giuliani and stroked the home run to left. His 15th home run of the season allowed the Missions to leap in front, 6-4.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Solis said.
Montgomery is 69-39 and Santa Barbara, with the loss, 84-24.
