The Niskayuna Fighting Knights claimed a close win over the Wichita Panthers, due in large part to Oscar Garcia. The Niskayuna right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Garcia got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Art Cohen closed it out for Niskayuna, earning his 12th save.

The Panthers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Fighting Knights going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old first baseman Ken Beck came to the plate. Beck hit a solo home run on a 1-1 sinker from Wichita hurler Hector Mendoza. It was Beck's 20th home run of the year.

"I like what I saw today," said Niskayuna manager Jonathan Anderson, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

The defeat makes Wichita 57-50.
