The Santa Barbara Super Troopers picked up a win at Wranglers Stadium, taking down the Newport News Wranglers, 4-1. Starting pitcher Phil McIntosh was a big reason why. J.J. Mendenhall collected save number 8. Newport News, at 63-43, has lost 4 straight.
Steve Bartlett hit a 2-run triple off Yee Wang in the top of the fifth, which put the Super Troopers in front, 3-1. Bartlett had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Phil was dictating to their hitters," said Santa Barbara manager Tyler Haskin.
