The Montgomery Missions eked out a 3-2 win versus the Santa Barbara Super Troopers at Missions Grove. Nobody did more than pitcher Josh Howard. He was terrific. Lee Davidson, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The first-place Missions lifted their record to 45-38.

Paul Adam was the walk-off hero for Montgomery. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Missions second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Every loss stings," said Santa Barbara manager Jimmy Jacobs. "This one is no exception."
