Alpines Win Squeaker, 7-6, Over Air Riders
The Savannah Alpines topped the South Pasadena Air Riders, 7-6, in Sub League 2 action at Alpines Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Savannah pitcher Chris Erickson. Erickson got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. South Pasadena's current losing streak is now 4 games.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old right fielder Collin Mays had a chance to be the hero. South Pasadena pitcher Angelo Luque wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Mays drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Alpines had themselves a thrilling win.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Erickson said.
