Alpines Pick Up 2-1 Road Win Over Carson City
Carson City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Bill Guerrero, falling to the Savannah Alpines, 2-1. Guerrero threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Savannah goes to 45-58, Carson City to 61-42.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Alpines had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when left fielder Rafael Farrand hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bill Guerrero and made the score 2-1, Alpines. Farrand went 1 for 4.

"Some games build character," said Savannah manager Ryan Allen. "Like this one."
