The Spring Park Green Knights stopped the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 6-3, at Car Ramrod Park. The Green Knights got a big game from Miguel Diaz, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Shunso Tabata got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Frank Cabrera picked up the save, his 4th.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Diaz hit a 2-run home run off Luis Garcia. It propelled the Green Knights into the lead, 3-1.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Green Knights manager Noah Lute. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Green Knights sport a record of 38-62.
