5 Straight Wins for Sunrays
|
Alpines Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Savannah Alpines and Ontario Sunrays.
In a low-scoring contest between the Ontario Sunrays and the Savannah Alpines, Phil Perrin was the X factor. The Ontario left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Perrin yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-3. Brock Richardson, who is rated as the 44th best prospect by BNN, earned the save for Ontario.
Ontario used the timely hitting of David Herman to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sunrays ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Herman.
Savannah has now lost 4 consecutive games.
