Cyclones Absorb 5-3 Home Loss
Led by 21-year-old Justin Pauly, the Newport News Wranglers knocked off the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 5-3. Pauly went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Wranglers. Ivan Gonzalez earned the win. Brian Pace, who is rated as the 73rd best prospect by BNN, took the loss for Mt. Vernon. Jonathan Aubry earned the save for Newport News, his 5th.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Joe Bronson? The Newport News left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Wranglers on top, 1-0. For the game, Bronson had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Pauly called it "a solid win."

By defeating Mt. Vernon, the 5th-place Wranglers improved to 43-54.
