Miners Rally For Late Win Over Super Troopers
|
The Carson City Miners beat the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 6-2, with major props going to pinch hitter Jerry Konas. On the day, Konas was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Miners. The Miners improved their record to 60-38 with the win over Santa Barbara.
Konas had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Isaiah Timmons, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Miners a 6-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Konas.
"They had a good approach," Santa Barbara skipper Tyler Haskin said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
