Russ Philip had a hand in Sikeston defeating Carson City by the score of 9-5. Philip went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 2 runs. The second-place Shamrocks now have a record of 57-39.

Tied up with the Miners in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Shamrocks got a boost from third baseman Josh Flowers. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Flowers saw a 1-1 slider from Ricardo Alva and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Sikeston on top, 4-3.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Philip. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
