Super Troopers Jolt Panthers, 3-1, with Late Rally

Santa Barbara used a superb performance from starting pitcher Miguel Rodriguez to down the Wichita Panthers, 3-1. The win belonged to Russ McKenzie in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jim Unknown took the loss for Wichita. Steve Albrecht recorded the save, making him 20 for 24.
Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Jonathan Lewis to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Super Troopers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Lewis.
The Super Troopers, at 76-22, have a comfortable 19-game lead in their division.
