The Newport News Wranglers spoiled a good performance by Niskayuna right fielder Nate Fard, bumping off Niskayuna, 7-6, at Wranglers Stadium. Fard was 3-4 with a home run and 2 triples. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The 5th-place Wranglers now sit at 40-53.

Jesus Belcher took Niskayuna hurler Doug DeBauche deep in the bottom of the seventh. His grand slam home run put the Wranglers on top, 7-6. In all, Belcher had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
