Sunrays Pick Up 3-1 Road Win Over Newport News
|
The Ontario Sunrays beat the Newport News Wranglers, 3-1, at Wranglers Stadium. Starting pitcher Rod Cano was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Brock Richardson recorded the save, his 5th. Ontario is now 41-52, while Newport News is 57-36.
Chris Travis had a direct impact on the outcome. Travis contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Ontario up, 2-0.
"Rod made the big pitches when he needed to," said Ontario manager Sam Story.
