The Montgomery Missions picked up a win at Missions Grove, knocking off the Newport News Wranglers, 6-4. Starting pitcher Brian Millet was a big reason why. Jeff O'Donovan earned the save for Montgomery, his 8th. The first-place Missions, at 59-33, lead the Sub League 2 East Division by 10 games.

In the bottom of the sixth, Montgomery first baseman Danny Solis gave his team the lead. With one out and a runner on 1st, Slap hit his 13th home run of the year. Newport News pitcher Ivan Gonzalez surrendered it. With that, the Missions jumped in front, 3-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Solis. "And not try to do too much."
