|
Montgomery Missions starter Ryan Neely pitched a strong game against the Anaheim Music at Missions Grove, leading the Missions to victory, 3-1. In 6.2 innings, Neely surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Jeff O'Donovan earned the save for Montgomery, his 18th of the year.
Joel Garber went 1 for 3 with a walk for Montgomery. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jesus Gonzalez. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
Garber said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The last-place Missions have a record of 38-54.
