Starting pitcher Hector Mendoza pitched well enough to help the Wichita Panthers beat the Montgomery Missions, 8-6. Wichita, at 49-38, occupies second place in the Sub League 2 Central Division.

Aaron Anderson had a big run-scoring triple for the Panthers in the bottom of the second inning. With Wichita leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Neely and swatted a triple to center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Panthers ahead, 2-0.

"Hector gave us a heck of an effort," said Wichita manager Ross Meister.
