Newport News right-hander Sergio Romero helped his team edge Ontario by the score of 2-1. Romero kept the opposing lineup in check. The Wranglers win now puts them at 38-51.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bob Sallee? The 21-year old second baseman Sallee stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Newport News up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
