Huseman gets 5 RBI in Cyclones Win
Chris Huseman added some punch to the Mt. Vernon offense, helping them outmuscle the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 13-8. In the game, Huseman, the 19th overall pick in the 2023 draft, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Danny Vollmer was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The Cyclones, at 34-29, lead by one game in their division.

Juan Guerra had a big 3-run home run for the Cyclones in the bottom of the third inning. With Mt. Vernon trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Bravo and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 3-2.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Huseman told the Mt. Vernon Citizen.
