The Montgomery Missions beat the Savannah Alpines, 6-5, at Missions Grove. Montgomery center fielder Paul Marks had an outstanding performance. He went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Garcia. The Missions now own a record of 32-28.

With Montgomery leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Marks hit a fastball from Chris Erickson for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Missions ahead, 6-1.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Marks told the Montgomery Daily News.
