Good production from third baseman Doug Wagner helped the Santa Barbara Super Troopers topple the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 10-4. Wagner went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Super Troopers. Armando Rendon, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Cyclones to 3 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The Super Troopers, now 42-15, have won 4 in a row.

Mike MacPherson had a big grand slam home run for the Super Troopers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Santa Barbara leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Tyler Bourassa and swatted a home run to center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Super Troopers ahead, 8-3.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" MacPherson told the Santa Barbara News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
