The Niskayuna Fighting Knights defeated the Savannah Alpines, 7-3, at Alpines Stadium. Leading the charge for Niskayuna was third baseman Ken Beck. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Jesus Garcia. His record now stands at 2-0. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Fighting Knights. With the win, Niskayuna raised its record to 30-29.
With the game tied, 0-0, in the top of the fifth, Beck had a key at-bat for Niskayuna. With a runner on 2nd, Beck hit a run-scoring single off Adam Monteleone, making the score 1-0, Fighting Knights.
