The Ontario Sunrays did just enough to secure a victory over the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 4-3, in 11 innings at Sunrays Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Gonzalez. The win went to Jason Eppert in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeff Reade took the loss. The victory puts Ontario at 29-51.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Ontario. That's when 21-year old second baseman David Herman hit a run-scoring double off Jeff Reade to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

In postgame remarks, Herman said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
