Wranglers Get Past Savannah for 5-4 Win
The Newport News Wranglers defeated the Savannah Alpines, 5-4, at Wranglers Stadium. Newport News was led by 18-year old catcher Vic Colan, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Wranglers have won 4 in a row.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Newport News trailing 4-2, Colan jumped on a curveball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Eddins and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Wranglers had a walk-off win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Newport News manager Adam Tate.
