With 5-2 Win, Wranglers Go to 46-29
|
The Newport News Wranglers stifled the Wichita Panthers, 5-2, at Panthers Park. Justin Pauly had his hitting cap on. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Newport News. Jonathan Aubry was credited with the save, his 17th in 17 tries. The win hiked the Newport News record to 46-29.
It could have been a different outcome for Newport News, had it not been for Matthew Brown, the 22-year old center fielder . Brown contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Newport News up, 4-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Newport News manager Adam Tate. "It's usually not just one thing."
