Shamrocks Stay Hot With 3-1 Win
The Sikeston Shamrocks downed the Savannah Alpines, 3-1, at Alpines Stadium. Stellar pitching by Israel Parez had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Parez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was Chris Hall, his 4th.

Sikeston used the timely hitting of Josh Flowers to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shamrocks on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Flowers.

Savannah's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
