Super Troopers Rally to Nose Past Savannah
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers had to overcome a fine effort from Savannah pitcher Steve Shewmaker to win, 4-3, at Alpines Stadium. Shewmaker went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Santa Barbara pitcher Jeremy Abbott earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Dusty Garrow suffered the loss. Steve Albrecht closed the game out for Santa Barbara, earning his 11th save.

Santa Barbara took a 4-3 lead on Jose Martinez's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Martinez hit in the top of the ninth, left Savannah pitcher Dusty Garrow visibly frustrated.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Super Troopers manager Jimmy Jacobs.

Santa Barbara now sits at 38-14, while Savannah falls to 25-27.
