The Santa Barbara Super Troopers picked up a win at Car Ramrod Park, downing the Newport News Wranglers, 12-0. On the mound for Santa Barbara was left-hander Phil McIntosh, who played a pivotal role in the win. McIntosh yielded no runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 7-3. The Super Troopers raised their record to 46-27.

The Super Troopers got a gift in the bottom of the first inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Ruben Vences reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Santa Barbara.

"Phil is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Santa Barbara manager Tyler Haskin.
