The Savannah Alpines defeated the Spring Park Green Knights, 6-1, at Ballpark of Spring Park. Savannah shortstop Raul Rodriguez had a superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Harley Jacobsen went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right-hander struck out 4 and walked 0. With the win, he's now 1-1 this season. Savannah currently is in 4th place in the Sub League 2 East Division at 33-41.
Rodriguez had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Alex Torres, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Alpines a 4-1 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Rodriguez.
"We put on our big boy pants and went to work," said Rodriguez.
