Perez Goes on Rampage Against Miners
|
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Jerry Perez of the Anaheim Music. Perez went on a tear at Miners Ballpark and cracked hit after hit off Carson City pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 21-year-old first baseman had a career 5-for-5 day and something he will long remember.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview.
Despite Perez's personal accolades, the Carson City Miners walked off the field with the 6-2 win.
Jerry Perez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Looking at his present stats, Perez has compiled a .406 batting average in 14 games with a .433 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 6 runs.
