In a tight contest at Fighting Knights Field, the Niskayuna Fighting Knights edged the Mt. Vernon Cyclones by the score of 6-5. Niskayuna catcher Nick Watkins, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Doug DeBauche, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. Niskayuna is in 5th place in the Sub League 2 East Division with a record of 29-42.

With Niskayuna leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Watkins hit a sinker from Bert Juarez for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Fighting Knights ahead, 5-0.

"Not the sexiest win," said Fighting Knights manager Jonathan Anderson, "but I'll take it."
