The Mt. Vernon Cyclones beat the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 6-3, at Fighting Knights Field. Byron Spencer went 2-4 with 2 home runs. The 21-year old first baseman was a menace to Niskayuna all day. The third-place Cyclones have a record of 37-33.

Mt. Vernon needed the clutch hitting of Mario Suarez to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cyclones on top, 4-3. For the game, Suarez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
