Carson City Sent Home with 3-2 Loss
|
The Newport News Wranglers beat the Carson City Miners, 3-2, in part because of catcher Josh Dunn. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bohdan Kasatkin, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings. Newport News is now 28-42, while Carson City is 35-35.
Dunn contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Newport News in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Dunn took a sinker from Carlos Abreu and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Wranglers to leap in front, 2-1.
