Starting pitcher Yee Wang gave the Newport News Wranglers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Sikeston Shamrocks, 3-2, at Wranglers Stadium. Jonathan Aubry snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Alexis Jaimes suffered the loss. With the victory, the Wranglers upped their record to 41-23.

Brian Beason was the walk-off hero for Newport News. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wranglers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Beason.
