Antonio Rodriquez left his imprint on the 4-3 Savannah win against the Mt. Vernon Cyclones. Rodriquez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Alpines saw their win-loss record go to 25-33. At the same time, the Cyclones fell to 31-27.

Rodriquez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Savannah in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Rodriquez took a forkball from Russ Burleson and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Alpines to leap in front, 2-1.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Mt. Vernon manager Tom Whiting. "But we decided not to take it."
