The Niskayuna Fighting Knights downed the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 9-4, the largest share of the credit belonging to left fielder Carlos Malabranca. On the day, Malabranca went 2 for 4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Fighting Knights. The 'W' lifts Niskayuna's record to 18-14.

With Niskayuna leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Malabranca hit a 2-run single off Mt. Vernon hurler Dara Qutaiba. It was the 28th hit of the season for Malabranca and put his team ahead, 4-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Malabranca told the Niskayuna Gazette.
